1. What is the difference between FLAC and mp3?
Flac is a lossless audio format giving a genuine high fidelity audio experience, that is above the quality of a CD. Mp3 is a compressed format of low fidelity, FLAC is the real deal hi fidelity audio experience.
2. How can I play a FLAC file or burn it onto a CD?
We recommend VLC media player which is free for download. Download it FREE from www.videolan.org/vlc/
FLAC files are playable via a number of free and shareware audio programs for both Mac and PC and are convertable to wav easily via other free / shareware software for buring onto CD.
3. I have a problem downloading a FLAC file or have a query regarding my golden account
Technical support for paid downloads and golden accounts is available by emailing matt@theheroesofwoodstockdownloads.com. We aim to get back to you within 24 hours, often it will be much less and even within minutes.
4. I have a problem downloading the free mp3 files.
Limited support is available regarding the free mp3 downloads however due to the volume of interest in the free downloads it is not always possible to reply quickly. The free files are provided 'as is' and do not come with guaranteed technical suppoprt, and we would recommend the high quality FLAC format where we are able to assist you to a greater extent. All files and technical support are provided by Voiceprint UK, we do not have an agreement with the Heroes Of Woodstock to provide assistance for their free downloads except in cases of problem with the files themselves.
5. I was told this show would be available following the gig but I've not seen it yet, when will it be available?
We will endeavour to keep the home page of the download center up to date with estimates of when files will be posted. Please note that due to the size of the files and the availability of internet access on the tour it may not always be possible to get shows up the next day. They will be made available for at least 72 hours (3 days) from when they are posted. You may need to check back every couple of days to find out when your show will be posted. Please note we are unable to mail out as to when shows are posted and keep an eye out.
6. I missed the download for xxx show, is there any way I can get hold of it?
Not in the free mp3 format, but a FLAC version will be uploaded in due course (if not available already).
7. I didn't get a passcode / it was unclear what the passcode was
Passcodes are read out at the shows but we may be able to help if you are able to supply proof of purchase for the show. Photographed or scanned ticket stubs or receipts will normally suffice. Please contact matt@theheroesofwoodstockdownloads.com and attach a scan or photo in the first instance. Alternatively you can try getting in touch with the venue or alternative contact details are available on the main web site. Due to high demand we cannot answer other queries regarding the free files here but are able to provide support for the FLAC downloads.
8. I have registered but did not get a confirmation email
Please check your spam settings, trash, bin etc. Note that many email companies - particularly Hotmail and AOL frequently junk email addresses from web servers which have not been actively whitelisted. Again you can mail matt@theheroesofwoodstock.com for further assistance.
